Pender Island and the other Gulf Islands are accessible via BC Ferries, air (primarily float planes) and private and commercial boats. The following links are to the most up-to-date schedules. Because they do change from time to time, we strongly suggest that you check the schedules closer to arrival time – even if you have made a reservation in advance.

From the Mainland: BC Ferries operates a service from Otter Bay on Pender Island to Tsawwassen on the Mainland at least twice a day. Reservations are strongly recommended at all times both to and from Tsawwassen. Schedules 

From Vancouver Island: BC Ferries service from Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island to Otter Bay on Pender Island runs many times a day from early morning to early evening. Reservations are not accepted. It is recommended that you arrive at either terminal at least an hour before sailing time during peak periods. Schedules

In addition to cash and travellers’ cheques, BC Ferries accepts VISA and MasterCard for on-the-spot payment of fares and for advanced reservations.

The Pender Island ticket booth can be contacted directly at (250) 629-3344 to determine whether a specific ferry is on time or is running late. Our ferries sometimes arrive and depart later than the scheduled time. The ticket booth staff may be able to assist you in determining whether a particular sailing may be over subscribed (full early) or not.

By boat

The Timbers has its own 100 foot floating cement dock capable of supporting all water craft and float planes. Dock is available to guests by prior arrangement.
