Located on North Pender
Island, everything you need
is right here at the Timbers.
The caretaker keeps the
grounds manicured and the
facilities maintained. So
much to do and see, you
never have to leave this
55 acre pender island retreat to get the
fun and relaxation you deserve.
With several hot spots around
the property, all guests
have access to free, high-speed
wireless internet.
The
Timbers pool, open from
late May until Labour Day
weekend, is heated to a
comfortable 85 degrees.
Sanitized using recent technology,
it’s completely chlorine-free.
While the kids take turns
on the water slide, adults
can relax comfortably in
the deck chairs under the
covered lounge area. For
those brave enough to take
a dip in the sea, there
is easy access to the cold
waters of Bedwell Harbour
from the boat launch.
Children of all ages love
the large play area complete
with swing set, teeter totter,
slide and trampoline. The
lawn is perfect for a game
of tag or horseshoes.
The Timbers proudly features
a private 18 hole Frisbee
golf course. Disc golf is
much like traditional golf,
only instead of a ball and
clubs players use a flying
disc. Easy to learn and
great for all ages, this
activity is fun for the
whole family. Frisbees are
provided, but avid disc
golfers are encouraged to
bring their own.
With 55 acres of forest
and fields to explore, the
Timbers offers trails
for the whole family to
enjoy. The large ponds at
The Timbers are home to
many ducks and are frequently
visited by the great blue
heron, too. While strolling
through the grounds, bring
along some treats (no bread,
please) and watch the resident
ducks scramble excitedly
to gobble up their snack.
The rocky seashore, too,
is fun to explore at low
tide. No doubt, you’ll
see some starfish and hermit
crabs. With the ocean “right
there” and a 14 foot
aluminum boat available
for your use at the nominal
fee of $50.00, what better
way to spend a few hours
than cruising the calm waters
of Bedwell Harbour? If you’ve
got a kayak, you’ll
love paddling around the
islands. Keep a lookout
for seals, bald eagles and
killer whales.
The Timbers is a working
farm with sheep and chickens.
It’s great fun to
watch the chickens scramble
for the table scraps they
are fed each day. You may
even purchase fresh eggs
and veggies when they’re
in season.
